Last Straw Syndrome
August 11, 2010
I don't care what you do for work, or what you do at home (caring for family, children, etc.), there are time when the stress mounts to a point where the only path or rebalancing or regaining some assemblance or normality is to 'let off the steam'. The 'Last Straw Syndrome' isn't imaginary, and if you're honest, at one time or another in our lives we've all found ourselves loosing it. Loosing it, or releasing that 'steam buildup' can take on many forms. As far as I'm concerned, there are as many ways to let loose as there are people who get steamed up. If no one is hurt in the 'release process' I say, "Go for it!"
Recently, tabloids and newspapers are having a glory day reporting about the Jet Blue steward to argued with a passenger, ranted over the intercom and then, after grabbing a beer, exited the aircraft via the emergency shoot. The way I see it, it could have been a lot worse, and his 'going postal' could have resulted in serious injury to his passengers. If all he did was yell, grab a beer and deploy a rubber slide to get the hell out of his private hell, what's the big deal? Clearly he demonstrated an emotional breakdown.
Where's our compassion, or even better, our willingness to accept responsibility for often acting in ways toward those that serve us that only increase their stress.
People are rude, plain and simple, and treat others poorly, more often than not.
Think again, next time your ready to treat a clerk, or waiter, or stewardess badly.
My feeling is, it's about time someone had the courage to blast back at the outrageously rude public.

Radio Worth Waiting For!
Hello everyone!
Well, as much as I had wanted to begin broadcasting The Catherine Bradford Show as soon as July 16th on LA Talk Radio, it appears that we are all going to have to wait for that DEBUT SHOW. Over this past week circumstances (family matters) have created the need for me to postpone my opening show from airing, and so, we will all have to wait. I am hoping to have made it to the other side of these events within a short period of time, but until then, I am asking for your patience.
In the meantime, while taking this short and temporary hiatus from being on air live, I want to invite you to keep c...

Many of you who tune in regularly to the CTR Network and the Catherine Bradford Show are already aware that June 27th marks my last LIVE broadcast on this internet station. Do not dispair, I have no intention of leaving internet radio or hosting the Catherine Bradford Show. I have made the difficult decision, however, to switch internet radio stations, and soon you will be able to listen to my show LIVE on LA Talk Radio, located in Los Angeles. This growing station offers over 80 shows, on two channels, in a wide variety of topics. I am thrilled to have the opportuni...
