Seeing the Shift: Evidence in Tragedy

Our hearts are blown open. People around the world are wiping away tears, the images of children's faces blazed into their minds, igniting emotions of disbelief, and grief. For many, these feelings are all too familiar. For all, these feelings are mingled with the deepest sense of frustration at what seems to be a growing culture of violence everywhere.
I, too, held myself tightly to the fire of the media these past several days. It is how I survive, purposefully submerging myself into the psyche of the details revealed, the images we're allowed to see, inhaling the energy signatures of grief. It is how I come to understand the higher purpose, and how I rise up from the devastation to see the eternal light through what many may only see as darkness.
I notice my own emerging spiritual answers and fall into the trust of knowing that I am always guided to a place of deep understanding and peace. It is this place, found deep within and high above, that carries me, my thoughts and feelings, my actions to willingly participate in whatever way I can to keep the energy moving toward change.
We ARE experiencing the end of the world, only the end of the world is not what you may think or imagine. We have recently witnessed the horror of choices and actions that all of us agree are no longer wanted. Connecticut's tragedy has blown open the door to change, and delivered each of us enough spirited energy to walk across the threshold into the possibility of behaving differently, all the time.
Those young and beautiful innocents, whose eyes hold a special knowing as they look deeply into each of us through their photographs, confirm that they have delivered us the greatest gift, perhaps in recent and past history, through their sacrifice. Their lives, and the aggressive and violent manner of their death, stand in sharp contrast. The enormity of distance between their purity and the darkness of the crime leaves no room for error when we evaluate right from wrong. It is through this sharp contrast all of us, no matter what age, race, religion, or spiritual belief held, stand firmly united on the side of what is right.
It is in this moment we tip the balance, perhaps for the first time so succinctly. Our thoughts will become our choices. Our choices will be our reason. Our reason will become our daily actions and our actions will lead us into the new paradigm of global peace, compassion and unity.
Many have dared to imagine what the end of this month might mean, what previous cultures may have meant in their predictions. Perhaps we are witnessing the end. I am hoping and praying this is so.
Perhaps we are seeing the end of a world where violence and it's aftermath are commonplace and ignored. Perhaps we are finally arriving, as we cross the threshold, into the Promise Land.
